Mal Chalmers

Mal is a full member of the Queensland Law Society and an associate member of the New South Wales Law Society. During his years of solo practice Mal became well known in the local area as a general practitioner and has provided competent legal advice to a broad cross section of the community. In addition to taking instructions in Queensland matters Mal will continue to accept instructions in New South Wales conveyancing matters thereby complementing and expanding the existing legal services of the firm.

Admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in March 1981 

Admitted as a Solicitor of the High Court of Australia in 1984 

Admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in August 1988 

Former sole practitioner from April 1981 until March 2009 at Palm Beach 

Honourary Solicitor for the Queensland Professional Golfers Association (PGA) 

Honourary Solicitor Point Danger branch of the Surf Lifesaving Association of Australia 

Board member of Surfing Queensland 

Member of Australian and New Zealand Sports Law Association and former committee member for the annual conference held on the Gold Coast in November 2007 

President of the Gold Coast Traffic Offenders Program (GCTOP) 

Specialist knowledge in the following areas: 

  • Cottage conveyancing both Queensland and New South Wales
  • Commercial property law involving preparation of Contracts, Leases and conveyancing
  • Sports law including advising in respect of Athlete Contracts and advising sporting associations in respect of disciplinary and constitutional matters
